Founder of GeneCom Group
Annette holds an MBA from the University of San Francisco and an undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California in Business Administration and Marketing.
Annette founded GeneCom Group in January 2012 after working as the Senior Director of Integrated Communications at Affymetrix for several years. She has also held leadership roles at Bio-Rad Laboratories, Invitrogen (now Life Technologies), Solta Medical (formerly Thermage), Boston Scientific, American Cyanamid and American Hospital Supply. Her career started in field sales and grew to include senior management roles both commercial and product marketing . She found her passion in marketing and corporate communications, believing that her ability to manage teams and build sound project plans could build a strong foundation for starting her own agency.

Research Consultant and Analyst
Mary received her MBA from the University of Chicago in finance and entrepreneurship and was a PhD student at Cambridge University’s Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute of Cancer and Developmental Biology. In addition, she has an MS in Biotechnology from Northwestern University and a BS in Botany from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Mary was most recently a product manager at Affymetrix where she managed a highly successful portfolio of products in the DNA and Clinical Marketing Business Units. This portfolio consisted ofmore than 15 products targeting basic disease researchers and clinicians who use microarrays for genotyping and drug metabolism. Before joining Affymetrix, Mary worked as a management consultant at Navigant Consulting, and held a position at a private equity firm where she was an assistant portfolio manager of nearly $100M in indirect and direct investments across a broad range of industries. Prior to business school Mary worked in academia as a basic researcher studying epithelial cell biology and the genetic mechanisms underpinning cancer.
